A Fort Lauderdale industrialist and multi-billionaire who is known for his philanthropy has been reported missing after his boat, with its navigation lights on and its engine still running, washed ashore in the early morning hours.
Brazilian born Guma Aguiar went out last night on one of his three boats, the thirty one foot boat T.T. Zion at approximately 7:15 PM.
An experienced mariner and the father of four, the thirty three year old Aguiar was alone on the boat at the time.
“The weather was not the best last night, but Guma is a water person and he knows the water very, very well,” Rabbi Moshe Meir Lipszyc, co-director of Chabad Lubavtich of Fort Lauderdale, told VIN News.
Fort Lauderdale Police were notified when the boat washed ashore at the 300 block of South Atlantic Boulevard and they proceeded immediately to the Aguiar home. Aguiar’s wife, Jamie, thought her husband was working in his home office and was completely unaware that her husband was missing. Currently, both the police and the coast guard are searching for Aguiar and investigating the circumstances behind his disappearance.
“Guma is a dynamite person,” said Rabbi Lipszyc. “He has an unmatchable neshama and a heart bigger than all this world. With Hashem’s help he will show up soon, safe and secure and we are asking everyone to daven for Yehuda Dovid ben Ilana Orah and to do a mitzvah as a zechus for his safe return.”
Aguiar, who immigrated to the United States at age two, is the vice president and chief executive officer of Leor Energy. He divides his time between his homes in Florida and Jerusalem and is known for his generous support of numerous Jewish causes including Chabad, Nefesh B’Nefesh and March of the Living and was just recently named as one of the thirty six most influential Jewish leaders under the age of thirty six by The Jewish Week.
A die hard sports enthusiast who played both soccer and tennis competitively, Aguiar invested over $4 million to revive the financially strapped Beitar Jerusalem Football Team and over $1.5 million in the Jerusalem basketball team, Hapoel Jerusalem.

To 13, stop judging and saying lashin hara, it’s gimmel Tammuz! You should pray with the rest of us for his safe return! Please g-d, I hope he is alive and ok. I don’t know him at all but pray with all my heart that he is ok! He is a person with a family!
Hashem yerachem!
and say tehillim!
NICE ONE #17 , LIKE IT, LIKE IT.
Evryone’s got an opinion on someone on COL.
can´t you keep that to yourself? the man is missing! besides, who are you to decide wether he is misguided or not?
right now we don´t need to ponder on his ´mistakes´, we only need to say tehillim for him so he can be found safely iy´´h
We should be careful what we say on these postings because Guima may be safe and well and claims of his demise premature.
#13 who are you to say he was misguided.?
He was a TINOK SHNISHBOH who did not know he was even Jewish until in his twentys.
yehuda dovid ben ilana orah
Guma Aguiar is no Robert Maxwell. He does have some nasty relatives who were trying to steal from him, but really he just started to do too much, too fast when he made his windfall. Sadly, Chabad could not save him from himself.
You’re probably very young so please learn this: When we hear news that’s not good we open a tehillim and daven and we give tzedaka and do other mitzvos in the zechus that the person should be found/recover/live. Until there is evidence to the contrary, we should assume he is alive and we should NEVER articulate anything else.

chas veshalam!!!! hope for the best!!!! whats his name for tehillim? And i remember seeing an article about him here b4!! thats so saddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I h ope he is found alive!
Former owner of the Daily News, Robert Maxwell – on Nov.5 1991, his body was found floating in the Atlantic, after a cruise on his luxury yacht, off the Canary Islands. The official story is that he fell overboard from his yacht and drowned. He was buried in Israel, on the Mt. of Olives. Author, Gordon Thomas, described his funeral more befitting a head of state than a publisher.
However, the Daily Mirror speculated that the Mossad may have wanted him out of the picture because of his connections with them, and he allegedly tried to blackmail them.
friends, lets all daven and do one extra mitzva for the safety of this kind man!!!! do whatever you can! may hashem watch over him and may he be found safe. amen.

So why aren’t you posting name for tehillim
