For the past five years, a monthly gathering and farbrengen has taken place in South Florida, hosted by Rabbi Leibel Miller.
Each month a local or guest Rabbi speaks to the group who come for what might seem to be a social event, but has over the years led to many new commitments in Torah and Yiddishkeit resulting from the experience.
Last month’s “Cigars and Torah” gathering included attendees were from the entire spectrum of the local Jewish community.
Leading the farbrengen was Rabbi Mendel Shagalov, an internationally touring Rabbi and Chazan.
Rabbi Shagalov told inspirational stories and gave guidance especially related to Gimmel Tammuz at the farbrengen.
Rabbis and Shluchim from different parts of the world have often invited Rabbi Shagalov to lead gatherings and services, and as always, he did not disappoint.
Cigars and Torah meets monthly and is open to the entire South Florida Jewish community as a great way to join together and lean some Torah while smoking a premier quality cigar.
“Just imagine how much Torah you can learn in the time it takes to smoke a cigar,” Rabbi Miller says.
Terrible health danger, please don’t smoke
A real chossid who spreads yiddishkeit with an ehrliche emmiskeit. Kudos to him.
