This Shabbbos, the Yeshivah Gedola Lubavitch of London brought down a guest mashpia, Reb Moishe Silman of Oholei Torah, to farbreng for the bochurim In honor of Purim Kattan.
After the joyous Adar Dancing arranged by the bochurim, he fabrenged thursday night into the wee hours of the morning.
The enthusiasm continued throughout Shabbos, with yet another farbrengen starting early in the afternoon, taking a short break at midnight for maariv and havdalah, only to recommence as a melaveh malkah, till early Sunday morning.
After 14 hours of consecutive farbrenging and inspiration, the bochurim, along with Rabbi Silman, broke into spontaneous dancing truly setting the tone for Adar in London.
At the culmination of the weekend, the esteemed Rosh Yeshivah, HaRav HaGaon Y. M. Hertz expressed his gratitude to Rabbi Silman and Rabbi Gordon for making this such an uplifting Shabbos, and exclaimed his delight upon seeing immediate results in the bright atmosphere of the Yeshivah and its bochurim.

It’s going on 15+ years since I was in London, and I have tremendously fond memories of it. Especially Rabbi Gordon. ‘Special’ doesn’t begin to describe him. He’s hands-down the best Lubavitch has. Emes, through and through. When some things don’t always get done, and I slack in certain areas. Shabbos Mevorachim tehillim is always done – and it’s all thanks to Rabbi Gordon.

I was in London as a bachur 11 and 12 years ago. Funny, the farbrengen in the library looks the same as it did then. I miss this place. Rabbi Gordon, there is simply no one in Lubavitch like you. Emesdik, passionate, and simply the real deal. I learned so much from you.
I’m reminded of the good old days in London Yeshiva. Ah certainly the most Geshmakeh years of my life. Great learning, great Avir, great FOOD!, inspiring Farbrengens. Rabbi Gordon Rabbi Hertz and I heard now they have Rabbi Lieberman….
