Guarding Heroes’ Doors: A Mezuzah for Every IDF Wounded Warrior

What happens when they come home?

Since 10/7, over 15,000 of Israel’s bravest—the wounded warriors of the IDF—have returned home, carrying the weight of their sacrifice. Colel Chabad continues to provide for them in so many ways, but these heroes now seek something more: a mezuzah for their homes.

Three prominent organizations have now joined forces to launch the “Mezuzah for Heroes” campaign. This initiative brings together the DansDeals Tefillin Campaign (Tefillin Connection), Tzvi Rappaport’s “Mezuzah for IDF soldiers” campaign, and Colel Chabad, with a shared mission: to provide a mezuzah for every soldier wounded in the recent Gaza war, offering spiritual protection as they recover at home.

The DansDeals “Tefillin for Israel” Campaign (Tefillin Connection) has helped over 2,500 Jewish men worldwide—each committed to wrapping daily—get a kosher pair of tefillin from their local Shliach. As part of that effort, the “Tefillin for Soldiers” campaign has helped over 1,500 IDF soldiers get their own pair of kosher tefillin. 

With the outbreak of the war, Tzvi Rappaport of Crown Heights launched the Mezuzahs for IDF initiative – providing protection for these brave warriors with of the Mitzva of Mezuzah for their homes and bases. Tzvi has successfully put up over 5,000 mezuzos to date and counting, bringing spiritual strength and protection to those on the front lines.

JJ Eleff (DansDeals & Tefillin Connection) shared, “When I got the call from Israel, I knew we had to help. These guys gave everything to keep us safe. Now we need to give what we can to keep them safe and heal at home.”

Thanks to an anonymous donor via Colel Chabad, each mezuzah donated will be 2x matched with an additional mezuzah. The cost of each mezuzah is $56.
