Wonderful and amazing story!

'influences of parents alone'
January 28, 2010 12:17 pm

what our chldren see us do, so they do as well. It’s not about making speeches, it’s only about being real and when the chesed of the parents is real, then the children are naturally ba’alei chesed. Bronya Shaffer and her husband Gedalyak, OH, are the kindest people. They touched many lives and brought many people ‘light’ and this was most amazingly portrayed in a gashmiusdike way when their dear daughter became the shliach for another Jew’s gashmius vision.

I was zoche to be at Bronya Shaffer’s women’s seder, and found out that her birthday is the very night we start to count sefira. So, here it is – she is chesed sh’b’chesed. Need more be said?

couldn't have done it
January 27, 2010 5:08 am

I couldn’t have it without the help of my dear mother, my father, all my siblings and my friends. From the influences of my parents alone was i inspired to help out a fellow jew.
so thank you to Ima, Aba, Liba, Nechami, Devori, Yosef, Batya, Yehuda, Chanale, Shayna, Yitzchok, and Raizel Shurpin.
Thank you for giving me the support and inspiration that enabled me to do this great mitzvah.

Giving someone life, literally

The Gemara compares a blind person to someone who’s not alive; Michal, you literally gave a person life. Lieba used to say that you are her ‘light’ malach and that Hashem sent her to Crown Heights because that is where you were!

we made a play of this story its incredible!

Massachusetts Miracle
January 26, 2010 3:08 am

Leiba’s journey began here in Boston. Hashem has rewarded her for her strong faith and commitment to Judaism.
She gave up her job, her friends, her security to become an observant Jew. She is an inspiration.

What a miracle! Truly unbelievable!
Where is Lieba now I haven’t seen her in Crown Heights? . The Bracha Poseach Ivrim must be amazing for her each day.
Thank you for posting the story. I had always heard bits and pieces. May all miracles be of the revealed form.

What a special person the girl Michal is.

It had to be a Shaffer
January 25, 2010 4:20 pm

It’s not a wonder that the catalyst for this miracle was a Shaffer. Michal, you should know only happiness in your whole life. You should have only LIGHT in your life!

wow!

waw, that is amazing! My grandmother is also blind, and unfortunetly she has been blind for so long that surgery wont help her, but she always see’s everyone in a good eye, in a positive light. She cant judge by the external so she always looks deeper into every person and finds the hidden treasures! I love her!!
