Chabad chassidim are holding Melave Malka meals around the world on Motzoei Shabbos Parshas Vayigash in memory of the beloved Shliach and Mashpia Rabbi Aaron Leizer Ceitlin OBM.
This Motzoei Shabbos was when Rabbi Ceitlin first held a festive Melave Malka in Crown Heights to benefit his educational institutions in Tzfas, Israel.
The Rebbe warmly encouraged and blessed the evening in 5740. Not long before his tragic passing, Rabbi Ceitlin choose this date to revive the plan.
His son, Rabbi Levi Ceitlin, has coordinated the global effort in accordance to the instruction in the Rebbe’s Hayom Yom that “Melave Malka farbrengens should take place in the homes of Anash.”
Organizers are encouraged to light candles, wash their hands for bread and eat a meal, as customary. The Ceitlin family asked that the 12 Pesukim be said, a niggun be sung and Tzedakah be given.
The family will be raffling off a coin given by the Rebbe to Rabbi Ceitlin to any family or individuals who organized a Melave Malka tonight. To participate, email a photo to [email protected].
