Mussie Weinfeld, a Chabad girl from Crown Heights, saved the lives of many airline passengers due to her quick thinking moments before a flight to the United States.
Weinfeld boarded the Russian airline TransAero flight at Ben Gurion airport on Motzei Shabbos, bound for the United States with a stopover in Moscow, her father Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld told Israeli media.
As the plane prepared for takeoff, and all the passengers were seated with their seatbelts on, Weinfeld noticed something was loose on the wing under the window where she sat, and it was making a loud noise.
Israeli websites reported that Weinfeld turned to the passenger in the seat near her, and said that something was wrong, but the passenger laughed it off, saying it was just the engine’s noise.
Sure that it was a serious problem, she got out of her seat and approached the flight attendants. They too, told her it was nothing and she should return to her seat.
Weinfeld did not give up, and said, “You do what you want. I will not travel with this plane.”
Her actions caused a commotion on the plane, and the crew decided to check what the noise was. The passengers were evacuated, and were told that within two hours they would be able to take off.
However, three hours later, the plane was still unfit to fly.
“They finally informed the passengers they would be flying on a another aircraft on Sunday evening,” Weinfeld’s father said. “They boarded a modern jumbo jet for the flight to New York. It turns out that a serious malfunction was discovered to be the cause of the noise, which would have endangered the lives of all the passengers. Their lives were saved, thank G-d, because of her resourcefulness.”

Don’t be rude!!! Didn’t you ever learn “if you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say anything”? Have a little ahavas Yisroel!!
If they were planning on doing a precheck anyway why didn’t they just tell the girl that they are anyway checking out the plane so she has nothing to worry about instead of just brushing her off!
Kudos to her. Her persistance payed off for all concerned
number 26 and 35 that was so cute Mussie whoever you are you did a really fantastic job keep up the good work and keep on smiling
I have often seen strange things when flying and as an adult have been intimidated to speak up; but BH for the ability of this young lady. What a kiddush hashem!
First of all if anyone bothered to read the article it already states the name of the airline.Secondly, how does her efforts here go to shidduchim and age?Yes,she is remarkable and I have great respect for her but how does that translate to becoming a spouse?People are sooo silly.
I am so impressed with this girl and with Hashem’ s kindness! I can’t add anything others haven’t already said, but I want to add my voice to the crowd anyway!
A hero!
Lol!
Your just amazing!!!
Great story of courage and perseverance! Great role model to listen to your instincts, trust yourself, and hold to your convictions. Need more angels like this <3
How old is she?

She saves a whole airline….
My aunt and Uncle were on that plane!!!
amazing this comes to show that hashem is guarding us and keeps on sending messages if we interprete it right we gain
i admire your courage
I have a shiduch for you!
Personally, I would tend to avoid taking off with any plane that requires hours of technical work.
to answer your question… She’s not! She’s a great girl any guy wld be so lucky to get such a gem. Chassidish and modest beautiful inside and out! כל הכבוד מוסי!!
Geoffrey Davis ?, Shirley Patterson ?, Diana Richardson ?, Menachim Raitport ?…
Vote Mussie !!!
The technicians are probably the same ones that service all the flights out of Israel. The airlines usually contract out the maintenance when they are not at their home base. So according to some of these comments you should stop flying.
What a brave girl! She saved an entire plane!
May Hashem bless her!
this is incredible!!! like how was she so determined??? A real nes, o my o my
מוסי
זוכרת שצחקת על הפחדנות שלי.. lol
אין עליך!!!
תמיד ידעתי שאפשר לסמוך עלייך…
גם מאוחר בלילה שרכב מפחיד עוצר…
חחחח
Fantastic kiddush Hashem, kol hakavod!
I’m curious, how old is Mussie?
our version of the story is that there was an issue that would have brought down the plane. Maybe it was just a small issue tat needed fixing but since they took too long they weren’t alowed to take off anymore till the next day. For all we know this plane took off the next morning and the next evening they used a different plane that would have flown anyway.
😉
Such a Chasidishe girl!!
i’m surprised she wasn’t arrested and accused of some kind of conspiracy.
We should all speak up like Mussie this week of koach Nissan and tell Hashem it’s enough – we want Moshiach right now!
Trandaero?
Why isn’t the name of the airline publicized to warn the readers not to fly this cruddy company
Lesson: Don’t follow the herd, neither for this, nor for any fashion of the day.
This message keeps coming up… don’t be afraid to speak up. Don’t be intimidated by the majority. Others will try to shush you but don’t give up. You can save lives, and others will thank you later 🙂
That such an obvious flaw was not detected by technicians before the flight shows we should be careful about flying this airline.
Mussie you’re famous hahaha
Idk how she did that! special Koach..
well one who saves a life saves the world… so one who saves an entire plane..!!!!!!!
Go mussie!! You’re so cool!
Only el al , Ba direct for me!
Go Mussie!! Best Girl in Lubavitch!!
good job for standing up
sometimes i’m nervous to be the only one to stick out like a sore thumb. we should all learn from you!
guess at those rate they can’t afford to maintain their fleet
…While the rest of the world just go along apathetically like sheep and dont have the ability to recognize when something is not right.
Amazing that even the flight attendants refused to listen.
They put thier faith in science and people and assumed the technicians did everything right. But one who has faith in Hashem knows that people can make mistakes.
Our first Bracha everyday is to know between right and wrong and make judgements.
The airline should pay her a million dollars for what she has saved them…
Teffilas Haderech always works
if l had done that, they would have called mental illness,so you see how vital to hear others and check it out, this happens to me all the time
What airline was it?
Great work.
To point out we don’t know that there would otherwise be a deadly accident or crash. Just possibly.
At any rate, great work and amazing story.
if you see say something. if they won’t listen do not fly!
Thank G-d she stood up to those intimidating people! Took a lot of courage! BH
כל הכבוד
her instincts were telling her something she listened stuck to her guns and she was right. way to go.
