It’s 2023 and another round of appropriations is allowing for houses of faith to receive up to $150,000 for security upgrades. This could be security fences, impact windows, lighting, impact doors, security cameras to name a few. Additionally, DHS/FEMA also pays for contracted security and training for your staff.
This is not a simple process. This is a highly competitive grant and requires preparation and knowledge of how to ensure the highest chance of success. There are frustrations once you are awarded as there is a 36 month period of performance to fulfill the award and to ensure it is done correctly. It is highly regulated and can be cumbersome. However, as we always remind clients, this is government funding, they dictate the rules and regulations and the priority is to make sure those are strictly adhered to.
