After a recent visit by a delegation of Lubavitcher Rabbonim in Monsey, coordinated by Chabad of the Airport’s Director Rabbi Yossi Rapp, the Gerrer Rebbe sent his son Rav Dovid Alter Shlita to visit 770 with a delegation of Gerrer Chassidim.
They were greeted by representatives of the Chabad Welcome Center at WLCC, and the Rebbe’s Library.
The Rebbe’s Room was specially opened by Rabbi Chaim Boruch Halberstam where Rav Dovid prayed. Rav Dovid noted the unique connection the dynasties of Lubavitch and Gur have shared for generations, in fact, his father merited a unique Yechidus in this very room.
Rav Dovid then proceeded to tour the Rebbe’s Library, led by Rabbi Sholom Ber Levin, Chief Librarian of Agudas Chassidei Chabad.
Rabbi Chaim Boruch Halberstam then led the group to the nostalgic WLCC Broadcast Room where he showed Rav Dovid a video he filmed of his father – the Gerrer Rebbe’s Yechidus with the Rebbe.
Rabbi Mendel Eisenbach of Chabad Welcome Center gifted Rav Dovid the newly published set of Tiferes Levi Yitzchok on behalf of Lahak’s director Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook.
In addition, Rav Dovid was gifted a Tanya printed in the courtyard of the Sefas Emes in Gura, Poland, by Shmuly Butler who was instrumental in coordinating the visit.
