Chabad of the Airport at the JFK international airport in New York greeted R’ Shlomo Tzvi Alter and Rabbi Shimon Rotshtein, the son and son-in-law of the Gerrer Rebbe, on their return flight to Israel Monday evening.
They were visibly impressed when seeing firsthand the activities of Chabad of the Airport directed by Rabbi Yossi Rapp, especially with the success of Mivtza Teffilin and the number of people that put on Teffilin for their first time ever at the counter.
The Gerrer Rebbe R’ Yaakov Aryeh Alter merited to meet the Rebbe for a Yechidus at 770 Eastern Parkway and shares a close friendship with Chabad and its rabbonim.
His son, R’ Shlomo Tzvi Alter gave his wishes of continued success to be “Mekadesh Shem Shamayim.” Rabbi Rotshtein remarked, “such a counter in JFK Airport can only be possible with the Rebbe’s brachos.”
Part of the delegation flying were Chanoch Zaibert, former mayor of Bnei Brak and Rabbi Avigdor Rubinstein, Rosh Yeshiva of Meor Yisroel in Bnei Brak.
