Traffic has reopened on the George Washington Bridge after authorities investigated a suspicious package.
The bridge was shut down Thursday evening while The Port Authority Police Department and the Bergen County New Jersey bomb squad investigated a suspicious package on the upper level of the bridge.
The lower level of the bridge had also been closed earlier, but has since reopened.
Drivers are being advised to seek alternate routes.
