A Gazan child with heart disease, once helped by Israeli singer Idan Raichel, later grew up to become a Hamas terrorist. That’s what the Israeli star revealed during a recent interview with Channel 12 reporter Dany Cushmaro.
Let’s take a few steps back. In 2008, Raichel worked with Israeli humanitarian organization Save a Child’s Heart, which saves the lives of critically ill children suffering from heart disease—including Palestinian children.
One of the babies he helped was from Gaza. As you can see in the photo below, Raichel is on the left, next to a crib, and the child’s father.
So how did Raichel discover the child’s fate?
An IDF soldier sent him the above photo from a house in Khan Younis, alongside another picture: the Gazan baby is now a Hamas “martyr,” as you can see below. His father was also a Hamas member.
Summing up the horror, Cushmaro said, “You helped this family, and we got from them terror and murder.”
It’s a story that captures a uniquely Israeli torment: Israelis open their hearts and save lives—only to have that mercy repaid with terror. Indeed, for Israelis, there are few harsher truths than this—that even the purest act of kindness can come back as an act of war.
Ask yourself this: What would you do if your generosity was exploited to kill you?

We know what to do
This helps us understand the mitzvah of mechiyas amalek…
Misplaced compassion in the name of diplomacy…
Why are we feeding our enemies in Gaza?
The war could have ended ages ago. Same patterns.
wow I cant believe a palastinian would not be grateful!!!
This is a FIRST!!!
Unfortunately, this happens ALL the time. It’s rare for them to be thankful AFTER our care. Even Sinwar was treated by us, I believe, and he was pure evil….
We need to use the Torah and our Nassi haDor as our guide for the actions we take. Our actions should not be based mainly on our hearts or or emotions. Nor on what the world tells us to do. Most people in the world don’t care about us And they don’t even really care about the so-called Palestinians because they are actually care so much about people who are going through a hard time, because if they did there are so many going through hard times in their own cities, there are people who are being brutalized in so… Read more »
That’s what happenes when you have a state in a holy god-given land that believes in making nice with the Philistines instead of destroying them.
perhaps they should have chosen Buenos Aires or Uganda after all for the state of Zionism.
Totally unexpected outcome, let’s not learn our lesson though

Kach!
When the malachim wanted to take yishmaels life when he was dieing, Hashem told the malachim no. Even though we know what his descendants will do, we judge how a person is acting today. And so that gazan baby was innocent however will pay for his actions today.
Yishmael had a father a tzaddik, a mother a tzadekes a brother a tzaddik, there was a huge chance he might change.
Here WHO EXACTLY is a tzaddik in that hellhole??!
Hagar was a tzadekes? Since when? Yishmaels potential despite his father and brother was to be who he was. And that’s why it pained his father to send his away. Just remember: 1st: A lot of these terrorists come from yishmael. 2nd: How many converts, converted to Judaism?
The Tanya speaks About “yakov feeling humble when Chesed is done to him”
Vs Ishmael who only grows prouder and entitled when Chesed is done for him.
Couldn’t be more true!!
I know that at times I have difficulty recalling the precise source of one story or another. However, the source for the following story is irrefutable; – it is found in the timeless Book of King David, and presumably most of us (unless we’re following the custom of R’ Hillel . . ) recite it at least once a day): The Jewish nation was in mourning. Our enemies had once again succeeded in their evil designs. Plundering, murdering, wounding and humiliating, they wreaked havoc and destruction wherever they set foot. A group of us then experienced the ultimate humiliation, –… Read more »
