Shortly after Islamic Jihad and Hamas vowed to retaliate for Israel’s targeting of an Islamic terrorist leader, a barrage of rockets was launched at southern and central Israel, activating sirens across half the country.
The Israeli military said that 50 rockets have been launched at Israel since Tuesday morning, 20 of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
Under constant rocket fire from Gaza since 6:00 a.m. this morning, volunteers from United Hatzalah in Sderot stepped up to perform an act of everlasting kindness when they assisted in preparing the grave and burial rights of a resident of the city who died yesterday.
Staff and volunteers who regularly take care of these arrangements for the deceased in the city were unable to perform reach the city due to the barrage of rockets coming from Gaza. The volunteers stayed to provide medical security to the small group of people who managed to arrive for the burial service to pay their respects for their neighbor and friend.
A home in the Eshkol Regional Council sustained a direct hit from a rocket, which penetrated the roof. The residents were in the safe room at the time, thank G-d there were no injuries.

Batsheva Hadad, a resident of Netivot whose home was hit by a rocket sustaining considerable damage, told News13 that she sees the miraculous hand of G-d that although her home was hit while they were at home, they all made it into the safe room in time.
No one was hurt from the blast, Hadad said.
“Baruch Hashem for His chessed. I have no doubt that the wall I have with pictures of holy tzaddikim including Rav Abarjel and the Rebbe from Lubavitch saved us. I first and foremost thank G-d for his chessed. Property damage is just that and thank G-d we are all okay,” she said.
