Gan Chayolei Hamelech, a premier boys’ preschool dedicated to providing a wholesome and Chassidish Chinuch, is excited to announce that it is now accepting vouchers for the first time ever. This groundbreaking change ensures that high-quality, Chassidishe education is accessible to all families, regardless of income level.
A Unique Approach to Chinuch
Gan Chayolei Hamelech was founded with a clear vision: to provide young boys with a high-quality Chassidishe Chinuch in a warm and structured environment where they can thrive in their connection to Torah and Mitzvos. The school emphasizes a strong foundation in both spiritual and emotional health, instilling in children the understanding of how precious every Yid and the Torah itself are.
“Our school is built on the principles of Chinuch Al Taharas Hakodesh,” shared Mrs. Mushky Kaplan, co-director of the preschool. “Our preschool ensures that every aspect of the learning environment aligns with our Torah and Chassidishe values.” Through hands-on learning and immersive experiences, children internalize essential lessons in a way that is meaningful and relevant to their lives while supporting the development of their Yiras Shamayim. The teachers write to the Rebbe with the students about how they are doing or when they have special progress to share, like when they have an extra special Davening. They also learn bite-size pieces of Chassidus as it relates to the Parsha of the week, helping them develop a strong foundation in Torah and a personal connection to the Rebbe.
Social-Emotional Development and Individualized Attention
The school places a strong focus on fostering social-emotional well-being. Teachers create an atmosphere where children feel emotionally safe, valued, and respected. Ahavas Yisrael is emphasized daily, as children are taught to be kind and considerate of one another.
With small class sizes, teachers are highly attuned to each child’s needs. They work closly with an educational consultant to help every child reach their developmental milestones. Special effort is made to see and share positive progress with parents and celebrate each child’s growth.
Our well-trained staff offer support in a structured and engaging daily routine. Our teachers are in tune with each child’s individual needs, challenges, and progress. When needed, our teachers have access to our professional educational consultants who guide them in working with the child to reach new heights that are developmentally appropriate. Consequences, when necessary, are natural and implemented in a way that fosters learning and growth.
Innovative, Hands-On Learning
Gan Chayolei Hamelech offers not only an exceptional Chassidishe Chinuch but also a rich environment that integrates elements of Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, ensuring that every child learns in a way that resonates with them. Teachers are mindful to engage the five senses in each lesson, making learning a tangible and interactive experience for every child.
Whether they are exploring the themes of Yud Shevat by moving clouds up a ladder through the different “Rakiim,” dramatizing Parshas Vayera with frogs in the kitchen, or witnessing the contrast of fire and ice to understand makas barad, students are given rich, meaningful experiences that bring Torah learning to life.
As each Yom Tov approaches, the classroom centers are thoughtfully updated to reflect ongoing themes, providing immersive learning opportunities. For example, with Purim approaching, the children are engaging in a costume store in the drama center, and Shushan Town that they painted. In the sensory center the children enjoyed making pretend Hamantaschen out of playdough.
A Calm and Nurturing Environment
Gan Chayolei Hamelech is designed to be a true haven for young children. The natural sunlight pouring into each classroom, and the natural and simple design, offers a calm atmosphere that supports focus and emotional well-being. The school provides nourishing, wholesome meals, including fresh vegetables, eggs, fleishig meals twice a week, and fish, ensuring that children are well-fed and ready to learn.
“Our classrooms are beautifully maintained, with high-quality materials that create an environment of harchavas hadaas,” Chana Kabakov, co-director of the preschool added, “It’s important to us that our children feel valued and inspired. Our state-of-the-art indoor gym and outdoor play area offers spaces for movement and physical development, allowing children to release energy in a structured and productive way.”
Parent Testimonials
“Gan Chayolei Hamelech is Crown Heights’ best-kept secret! A high-quality Chassidishe education, with intention and professionalism, in a beautiful clean environment. We are so grateful that our son spent his preschool years in GCH!” — Estee Leiblich, a parent at Gan Chayolei Hamelech
“We have B”H had amazing experiences with Gan Chayolei Hamelech. The teachers are very devoted and truly care for each child on a personalized level. They teach so many different concepts in a relatable, hands-on, Chassidishe way. My sons came home with a wealth of information that they were excited to share! Each project and activity is thought out, with different skills being taught through it.
The directors are also personally involved with each student, making sure that the boys are thriving in all aspects. They have hired a social/emotional coach so that the teachers have someone professional to speak with about the boys’ development.
The classroom and everything in it is planned out to create a calm and supportive environment. All of the furniture is wooden and the walls are painted a calming light color. The toys are Montessori-style (for teaching skills), and my son begs me to buy them for him!
As a mother, I always appreciated that I could be personally involved as well. The directors and teachers show a desire to work with the parents, to hear any concerns… This year, my son’s teachers send home at least one Mitzvah note each day to highlight something my son accomplished that day! This helps the parents become more involved in their sons’ Chinuch in a tangible way!” — Leah Reizes, a parent at Gan Chayolei Hamelech
“I feel so fortunate that my son was able to attend Gan Chayolei Hamelech. A beautiful environment, both physically and emotionally, with spacious classrooms and warm caring teachers. The Chinuch is purely Al Taharas Hakodesh, and aims to instill Yiras Shamayaim and Middos Tovos.
The nurturing attention is thoughtfully given, and teachers are all trained and guided with one uniform approach. I felt my son was loved and cared for each and every day.
I felt calm sending my son to school each day, knowing he was in the best place there could be.”
