With just two days left on the clock and $250,000 still to go, Gan Academy parents, children, staff and friends are storming the heavens and manning the phones to tell everyone they know “We B’Gan Building”!
“The excitement is palpable and we’ve seen a heartwarming response both locally and internationally” says Mendy Wilhelm and Avi Lesches. “We’ve had donations from $10 all the way to $10,000 which is also remarkable because our campaign comes on the back of multiple massive campaigns. The fact that people are still putting their hands in their pockets is testament to how this community rallies around the cause of chinuch, and especially around Gan Academy’s signature approach to education,” they added. “The outpouring of love and support we’ve seen tells us that we have the community’s trust and confidence and this means the world to us.”
Gan Academy offers mainstream Chabad schooling in an individualized way, with small classes and a focus on “the whole child” – academically and spiritually but also emotionally, socially and physically. Their unique chinuch offering has seen the school expand to 130 children and 35 staff members in just 7 years. Now, Gan Academy has outgrown its premises and is purchasing a building of their very own. “As we enter Purim, help Gan Academy plant new seeds with our new yeshiva in East Flatbush.
