‘Game Show’ at Oholei Torah

The junior high school division of Oholei Torah just launched the “Veshinantam” Motivational Program, a game show–styled competition aimed to increase enthusiasm and excitement in learning. The seventh and eighth grades will participate in the program.

The eight-week program splits each class into groups, and representatives race to hit their buzzers and correctly answer questions before their counterparts at these exciting game shows. The materials used are the same as what is learned in class. Veshinantam serves as added motivation and incentive for the students to properly review and fully internalize their studies.

“It’s a tremendous tool to help generate excitement for their Torah learning,” says Rabbi Yehuda Matusof, director of Veshinantam. “We’re tremendously proud of the incredible work our students put in, and successful results are easy to see.”

Teachers say they often receive calls from parents and tutors inquiring as to what material is required for the next game. “It is incredible to see these young students so fluent and sharp in an entire chapter of Talmud, as if it were all on the palms of their hands,” said Rabbi Sholom Goldstein, principal of Oholei Torah’s junior high school.
