Incredible talents, powerful kochos and countless hours were invested by so many to make this Yud Shvat at Bais Rivkah High School happen.
“The staff and students of Bais Rivkah High School are on a high, feeling inspired and empowered to move onward in their fulfillment of the Rebbe’s directives,” says Mrs. Sara Blau.
It began with a program on Friday in school. With the theme “Unlimited Access — יתיר מבחיוהי”, girls learned how our connection to the Rebbe is not bound by physicality.
Upon entering the building the girls immediately saw that this day would be something special, as they beheld the beautifully decorated lobby, directed by Shaina Brook and Michla Andrusier.
The lunchroom, completely decorated by Cirel Goldberg and Fraidy Vaisfiche, explored the gifts that the Rebbe gave us — the ways we can connect to him. The energetic singing during breakfast was truly uplifting.
A special Connection Point video geared to high school girls shared live accounts of how the Rebbe accepted the נשיאות and the students heard the מאמר from the Rebbe himself.
The workshops, directed by Gitel Nemes, Sara Silverman, and Basya Rivkin, blew everyone away. Gorgeous backdrops lined the walls and 3D built props were created by Sara Marcus, Aliza Feiglin, and Nechama Schmerling. Basie Zalmanov, Leah Lipskier, and Aidel Bluming taught the workshop, explaining the idea of התקשרות even when we don’t physically see the Rebbe.
The above rotations all culminated with a powerful talk from Mrs. Miriam Lipskier, shlucha to Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
On Friday night, every grade had its own special farbrengen, organized by the grade mechanchos. Ninth grade heard from Dini Hyman, tenth from Simi Sebag, eleventh from Rabbi Wenger, and twelfth from Mrs. Miriam Lipskier.
Shabbos morning at the Rubashkin’s basement found many girls gathered for a grand Chassidus before Davening, given by Ms. Miriam Elberg.
The weekend culminated with a gorgeous Melava Malka, with the theme of “תלוי במעשנו ועבודתנו — We Got This!” Based on this year’s מאמרים of באתי לגני, this spectacular event explored our untold treasures and how we have the responsibility to share the wealth with those around us.
Girls walked through an intricately decorated garden, designed by Brachie Werner and Sheva Raskin. They entered a completely transformed Rosa Hall. The girls who received a pair of earrings generously sponsored by Mrs. Julie Gniwisch.
Teacher Miss Y. Geisinsky, the evening’s dynamic M.C, announced that the night would be dedicated לעילוי נשמת חיים שניאור זלמן בן אהרן ליב, Rabbi Yudi Dukes, who united and inspired Yidden worldwide in Torah learning. Tzedaka was then given in his זכות.
The event’s program, created by Gitty Krinsky, Esther Schaffran, Tzaita Gurevitz, Sara Osdoba, and Shany Halon, was a breathtaking combination of video, dance, and song.
Our purpose, making this world a דירה בתחתונים, was expressed through a dance headed by Shany Halon and Rochel Sassonkin. The power that the Rebbe reveals in us was presented in a spoken word poem, written and dramatically recited by Batya Katz. How can we accomplish what the Rebbe demands of us? Through taking on one thing at a time, never being afraid of others, and never stopping. A lineup of girls, directed by Shaindy Heber, Mirel Rubashkin, and Chana Tiechtel, featured and shared many new החלטות that girls were committing to do, and everyone was encouraged to think of her own.
A stunning choir with a brand-new song written for the event, headed by Sheina Danow and Leah Fishbein, wove its way through the program, coming to a grand finale at its end.
The girls were privileged to hear from Rabbi Raleigh Resnick, shliach to Tri-Valley, California. The room was completely silent as his words resonated with every girl.
The raffle for a special program, Farby in 10, was then held. Farby in 10 has been running in many schools across the country. Every Thursday, girls spend the last 15 minutes of lunch watching an inspiring, short farbrengen given by Mrs. Yehudis Bluming.
Every girl who attended and answered a few short questions at least 4/5 times before י’ שבט was entered into a raffle for a Rebbe dollar.
Mazel Tov to Rochele Baumgarten on her incredible win!
With live music by Hadassah Benshimon, beautiful singing was led by Sheina Golomb, leading into spirited dancing.
The Melava Malka was followed by a farbrengen, hosted by the Chein family. Ms. Miriam Elberg and Mrs. Chayale Tzukernik inspired the many students who came with a farbrengen that went on for hours.
This י’ שבט weekend was arranged and directed by Mrs. Sara Blau and school shluchos Chavi Swued and Chaya Mushka Baumgarten.

What an unbelievable event! Yasher Koach!
So glad to see Bais Rivkah forging ahead during these trying times!!!!
Bai’s rivkah blows me away!! The girls deserve a lot of credit ! So glad to see bai’s rivka together again! Kudos to the G.O girls!
I couldn’t agree more. Bais Rivkah does, and is continuing to do a superb job. The G.O. girls do work very hard to put together various programs and events, however this yud shvat program was not done by G.O. girls. It was done by a group of girls part of the yud shvat comittee, this event was not a G.O. event and was not arranged by them. Just clarifying.
Thank you for sharing these wonderful efforts. The Rebbe must be very very proud. Keep sharing good things!
