Over 350 gathered at the Jewish Community Center in Staten Island to grieve the slain in Mumbai, under the theme of “From Darkness to Light.”
The MC was Rabbi Shmuel Bendet, and among the speakers were Mr. Stephen Blumert – president of the JCC, Assemblyman Michael Cusick, Rabbi Yaakov Lehrfield of the Young Israel of Staten Island, Rabbi Moshe Katzman of Chabad of Staten Island and Rabbi Stephen Stern of the Arden Heights Jewish Center read from the Psalms.
Six memorial candles were lit in memory of the victims, HY”D.
An emotional video produced by JLI was shown.
Mr. Boris Taran, a businessman who visited the Chabad Center in Mumbai, spoke about the Holtzbergs HY”D.
Cantor Meilach Kaplan sang kail molai rachamim.
