don’t you realise that there is no such thing as “jewish music” and what you think is jewish music is simply what your influences are….you think if the yidden in the shtetel a 100 years ago would listen to mbd and think it’s jewish….the sound of jewish music evolves with the times….and moshe hecht is kind of a pioneer in that way, does anyone know if he’s coming out with an album??

it shouldn’t be like other songs, but should have something that gives some Jewish sound. To be unique is fine, but does that mean that it has to be non Jewish-ish to do so? Creativity in jewish life means learning to stay Jewish in creative ways. Personally, I don’t really like it, because unless I listen carefully to the words, the music is pretty much like the general secular world.

it doesn’t sound “Jewish” because it’s an original tune and it wasn’t ripped off from some goyeshe band like all other “Jewish Music” this song is as Jewish as it gets, the words are pure, the melody is pure, and it is written and sung by a Hecht!!

very nice work moishe!

What defines chanale’s song as sounding more “Jewish”??? most of MBD’s music (which is the origin of modern Jewish music) was either inspired or directly copied from not Jewish music of 25+ years ago.

I think this song has a very original sound, and regardless it sounds nothing like “shwartse” music (whatever that is)

what happened to chanale’s song? that sounded more jewish. Why do you have to sound like a shwartse these days to make a ‘jewish’ song?

wow

He should produce a CD! This is great talent, both voice and lyrics! We could use some new Jewish music of good taste.

Great Song.

I saw an interview on COL were MBD said there is nothing new in Jewish music, generally I would agree but Moshe Hecht and this song are definitely a great new and and original addition to the Jewish music scene.
