It’s the first night of Chanukah, and hundreds of gorgeous bags with individually wrapped gifts are sitting under the glow of the Menorah. The hall is overflowing with 600 attendees. Friendship Circle of Brooklyn’s family Chanukah Party has just ended. It’s now time to hand out the gifts! All FC members, as well as their siblings, will be receiving a brand new toy or game for Chanukah. Every bag is packed with each individual child’s interests in mind. Their faces are glowing; their smiles light up their faces. Now they will also have a way to remember this ‘night of light’ for months to come.
Where do all these toys come from? The toys come from you! In the weeks leading up to Chanukah, Friendship Circle of Brooklyn hosts an annual Toy Drive in honor of Yissi Spiegel’s birthday. Toys can be purchased from a curated Amazon wish list, or they can be delivered to a local drop off location (see list below).
Give your children the opportunity to make a difference, by getting them involved too! Bring your children to a local toy store, or let them browse the Amazon wish list! Children who donate to Friendship Circle’s toy drive will receive a personalized certificate as thanks for their contribution!
