A mobile testing center for Covid-19 is coming to the Crown Heights neighborhood, thanks to the efforts of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council.
The mobile coronavirus and antibody testing center will be set up for one day in Crown Heights by Dr. David Schechter, organized by Zaki Tamir, Chairman of the CHJCC.
“Many people are worried, with the news about several new COVID cases in the neighborhood,” Tamir told COLlive. “This testing should help put peoples’ minds at ease, so they can know if they have antibodies, or if they are infected.”
Dr. Schechter’s lab is in close proximity to Crown Heights, and is available 24-6 for testing by appointment.
The free testing will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 11 AM to 7 PM, at 935 Eastern Parkway, corner of Troy Avenue.
Testing is free, and all insurances are accepted for the lab test. You must wear a mask.
Results are produced within 24 hours of testing. You do not need an appointment for the test.

Does it involve drawing blood or is it done with a swab
For covid 19 test its a swab. Antibody test is by drawing blood

Very accurate. Best equipment out there

Any info on what type of test is being used?
Not sure exactly but from what I understand it is of the better quality.
SWAB:Qiagen or Sofia
Antibodies: Roche or Diasorin Liason
Are the results reported? Will you need to deal with contract tracing or forced quarantine if you are positive?
If you test positive you can infect others so why would you want to avoid quarantine and endanger the lives of others?
I hope one will have the brains and responsibility to quarantine wether it is reported or not.
I absolutely would quarantine! I have been careful all along, wearing mask etc. And that’s why I have not had covid.
But I am concerned about the government getting involved

any time the gov has too much power… look at the results.
I previously got swabbed through Dr Schechter, was nice and easy and I got my results that same night! Would recommend to all, go get a test!
I won’t go and get tested so that I wont have to quarantine and lose a days pay. If the result is anonymous at least I would be careful not to come in contact with people and would wear a mask for the 14 days But now no test No mask. Don’t blame me if anyone gets the virus.
The results are not passed on to contact tracing.
