A Chanukah party hosted by the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council recognized the outstanding services to the community by the New York City Police Department and New York City Fire Department.
Honored was Deputy Inspector John Lewis, former commanding officer of the 71st Precinct, who was recently designated as Brooklyn/Queens/Staten Island Zone Commander for the School Safety Division.
During his time in Crown Heights, Lewis maintained a warm and positive working relationship with the local Jewish community. He took an active role in understanding the specific needs of the Jewish residents, especially during holidays and special events.
Also honored from the 71st Precinct were Sergeant Alfred Kelly, Officer Richie Silverstein and Crime Prevention Officer Frank Bulzoni, all of whom have worked for a safer community.
Also honored were Captain Eddie Lott, Commanding Officer of the 77 precinct, members of the local Fire House — Battalion 38 – Ladder 123 and Engine 234, and Lieutenant James Woods of Brooklyn South.
Captain Lott is an incredible human being. He is sensitive and very accommodating in times of distress.
I met him yesterday along with a senior Rabbi of our community to help get a father back to his family.
He is a shining example of a wonderful human being.
Thank you Captain Lott.
You will always be remembered for your senstivity and kindness.
