I saw this great guy on Israeli television. I just have a word of well intended advice to the people who manage this site. Please do not display that disgusting flag that is pictured behind him above. A flag can create a reality. When Herzl said in his diary that “in Basel I founded the Jewish state,” it was because a new flag appeared in his Zionist Conference. As he explained, a flag can change a mindset and estabkish a new fact. And so I say, that the sudden proliferation of the flag with the blood red triangle everywhere, can… Read more »

My apologies to Collive. I attributed the choice to show that disgusting flag in the graphic, to this website, whereas after another moment I see that it is from Prager U. Prager’s content on our conflict with the Arabs in the land of Israel often now features that banner. One that I caution against using. But my caution, I see, is better directed at them as it is they who decided to use it.

There is an equally interesting video that appeared on an online Israeli network (ערוץ tov), is an interview of an Arab Israeli man who grew up in Lod, went to Gaza to learn more about his Islamic faith, and came away deciding to convert to Judaism. He now lives among Jews and is Jewish. He described how the teachers in the Islamic seminary had students sit in coffins to think about death. Everything, he said, was focused on death.

Former? Wording is a bit strange

The same way one does not stop being a Jew, or a Hispanic, or Black, Asian, etc. one does not stop being Arabic or Palestinian.

You could say that he was formerly an antisemite, or formerly believed in the Palestinian cause, and now is an ohev Yisroel.

I don’t doubt for a second his legitimacy or dedication toward stopping antisemitism, but one doesn’t stop being who they are. It’s not evil to be an Arab or Palestinian, it’s only evil to believe in the “Palestinian cause”.

Did you miss the part that he converted to Judaism? I agree he is still genetically Arab/Palestinian, but he’s the one who gets to decide how he wants to see that part of himself. As far as we are concerned he is 100% a Jew.

If you bothered to listen to his entire video, you would hear him share how he could not identify or cope with the brainwashing of “murdering the Jews” from an early age so whilst brainwashing and hate is usually effective for majority of Palestinians, there are a few who seek to do better. And he is most definitely legitimate in my view. If someone converts according to the Beth Din, which he did (he persevered for years which shows his dedication and willingness) we have to accept them as our own. He is an inspiration, Thank you Dor for your… Read more »
