A non-for-profit Chabad organization in Israel is hoping to raise some funds with the help of the slain Shluchim of Mumbai.
An email this morning to our Hebrew sister site COL.org.il offered to sell benchers (Grace After Meal booklets) given out at the wedding of Rabbi Gabi and Rivki Holtzberg, HY”D.
The Holtzberg couple and four other Jewish people were murdered at the Chabad House in India’s capital during the November 2008 Mumbai attacks by Pakistani Islamic terrorists.
Their wedding took place on 27 Adar 5762 (2002). The families Holtzberg of New York and Rosenberg of Afula, Israel, are signed as thanking guests “for participating in our simcha.”
Opening bid on a single bencher is $100.
No further details were given about the sellers other than “a Chabad outreach organization in northern Israel which is in financial trouble.”
They did leave an email address for inquiries and bidding: [email protected]
Not at all, it says outreach… im sure Gavi and Rivka hy’d will get much nachas and aliys neshama

What a beautiful thing. What a great way to give the holtzberg’s an aliyas neshama and a zchus in this mitzvah of tzedakah. May their memory always be for a blessing and an inspiration for us all.
