The home of Rabbi Pinchas Taylor, noted author and Shliach in Plantation, FL, was severely damaged after a condensation pump overheated and ignited, sparking a fire that began in the garage and eventually spread smoke to the rest of the house. Someone walking by noticed the smoke and immediately called 911. Thankfully, no one was hurt as the family was not home.
After assessing the damage, the Taylors were informed that their house was not in liveable condition and that they would need to relocate for a number of months while the house is being repaired.
Naturally, the experience has been an overwhelming and traumatic one for their large family.
Rabbi Taylor first wrote about the incident on his Facebook page and he says that people have been constantly reaching out to see how they can help. “We are so grateful for the calls and texts asking if we need anything. We’ve been running on overload and sometimes we don’t even know what to answer.”
A donate page has been set up to help the Taylor family during this difficult time.
“We are very grateful to all those who can contribute,” Rabbi Taylor said. “May you and your family be blessed for your kindness.”
