For the first time ever Chanukah turned hundreds of heads at Bayshore shopping centre in Ottawa, Canada.
This year a Menorah lighting was held at one of the biggest malls in the nation’s Capital. With Chanukah falling out this year at the biggest shopping week, it was an especially auspicious time to create some hype surrounding the holiday.
This year the Ottawa Torah Centre Chabad, directed by Rabbi Menachem M. Blum, caught the attention of the local passersby to a Menorah lighting. The OTC created the first ever Chanukah flash mob at Bayshore, coordinated by Rabbi Sender Gordon, the center’s new program director.
Following the unexpected dance, the Menorah was lit with local dignitaries, followed by a bell choir from Rambam day school performing Chanukah songs. The Chanukah party ended off with a wonderful entertainer.
what a pleasure to see Ottawa rocking ,keep up the great work, all for one and one for all ,Am Yisrael Chai.
