Crown Heights men between ages the ages of 20 and 26 in search of a job are being offered an opportunity of a lifetime.
On April 23rd, Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs will be kicking off its Jobs Week — 5 days of classes delivered by 9 speakers where participants will not only receive top-notch career advice from successful local professionals, but access to over 20 local employers who are looking to hire.
Building on the success of the job fairs they held over the past two years, Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs (CHYE), Crown Heights Jewish Community Center (CHJCC), JCC of Greater Coney Island, New York City Councilman Chaim M. Deutsch, and generous donors in the Crown Heights community have come together to create a week-long event.
The first four days of the event will be devoted to classes, one class per evening. Each class will be held at 7:30 pm. The job week will conclude with a job fair held Sunday, April 29th.
The first evening, Monday, 4/23 will be dedicated to “Discover Your Strengths.” Taught by Yuri Kruman of Master the Talk Job Coaching, this class will provide a 4-step process to discovering innate talents and how to harness them to choose the right career path. Participants will learn about what they naturally excel at doing and ascertain which kind of jobs align with those strengths.
The second evening, Tuesday 4/24, is titled: “Learn The Best Job Options For Chabad Graduates.” In this class, participants will learn about 15 job opportunities ripe for post yeshiva individuals that pay great salaries. This class will be given by Yossi Ginzberg of CHCAP and several guest presenters, including many successful professionals in the Crown Heights community who landed great jobs straight out of yeshiva. The job opportunities discussed in this class will all be ones that a recent yeshiva graduate is qualified for without requiring additional schooling or certifications.
The third class, held Wednesday, 4/25 is called:”Land The Job You Want.” A promising candidate may be the right person for the job, but that doesn’t mean he’ll get hired. In this class, participants will learn strategies for how to navigate the job hunt and present themselves effectively. The class will be taught by Mordechai Kreuger of Jobs Search for Champions.
Finally, the last class, Perfect Your Resume and Personal Pitch will he held on the evening of Thursday, 4/26. In this class, students will learn how to create a winning resume and work one on one with a professional resume coach to perfect it.
Last, but not least, a job fair will be held the following Sunday where employers seeking to hire new talent will be matched up with appropriate job candidates seeking a position.
This job week is a tremendous opportunity for job seekers in the community.
Shlomie Rabin attended the job fair last year. “Thanks to the job fair, I got hired by Yossi Sidof of Shakuff Custom Lighting & Decor where I am now Production Manager,” he said. “I have now been happily working there for over a year.”
“The JCC of Greater Coney Island is delighted to be profoundly involved in efforts to introduce and upgrade career services being offered to the Crown Heights community,” said Executive Director, Rabbi Moshe Wiener. “This job fair is an additional expression of the admirable and critically important endeavors of our collaborative partners in addressing the vocational needs of the young adults of Crown Heights.”
“CHYE has a great network of young and growing businesses,” said Rabbi Eli Cohen of Crown Heights CHJCC, “Many of the people who run those businesses appreciate the unique talent and potential of young people trained in the Lubavitch educational system. I am excited that Rabbi Yehoshua Werde has volunteered to bring these two groups together — employers and potential employees.”
Many participants successfully landed a job after job fairs held in previous years. The sponsors of this year’s week-long session of workshops and networking are hopeful about exceeding expectations.
The cost to register for is $10 per class or participants can pay $20 for the entire program, including all four classes and the job fair.

Thank you for this but please keep in mind some of the above, suggestions, ie opportunities for women, and those over 27 and even those over 40
I think this is really an unbelievable opportunity. How about doing this for the over thirty group who need to support families.
Curious if the employers prefer hiring those with some kind of degree and whether the local schools are listening.
Yes, I’d also like to know if there will be a similar event for young women/ recent seminary graduates, and older bacharim. I’d also like to see something for older women who want to re-enter the job market after staying home to raise their children.
A shout out to all those who were a part in making this happen!
thank you!
Will a similar program be offered for women too , please ?
Also anything for those older than 26 and still trying to find their niche ?
