An inspiring evening of tribute to the Rebbe’s father, the gaon and mekubal Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson OBM, will take place in honor of his 75th yartzeit in Crown Heights.
The “Evening of Tribute” will feature an address by the renowned lecturer and author Rabbi Shais Taub, who will speak about Rabbi Levi Yitzchak’s extraordinary perspective on Torah, life and reality.
The evening will also feature inspiring and uplifting Chabad niggunim and music led by singer Eli Marcus, accompanied by renowned pianist Israel Edelson and flute maestro Yehuda Piamenta.
The event is open for both men and women and is being produced by Crown Heights resident Menachem Benchemon, with event design by Chani Greenbaum.
“High caliber events such as these take place in Chabad Centers all the time,” said Benchemon. “I truly felt that it was about time we have the same for our own community, to have the opportunity to be uplifted and inspired.”
The event will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights, 792 Eastern Parkway. Doors open at 8:30 pm, program 9:00 – 10:00 pm.
The Rebbe wrote about the day of Chof Av, his father’s yartzeit, “Chof Menachem Av is the yahrzeit and hilula of my father, Harav Levi Yitzchak ben Harav Boruch Schneur ז”ל… It is my obligation and great zechus to suggest, request, etc., that everyone study from his teachings at the farbrengen [of Chof Av], and to donate to charity in his memory on this day.”
The event is open for both men and women. Admission $10.
A live stream will be available for those unable to attend in person.
