A fire broke out at a Shul in Crown Heights on Sunday, at 672 Lefferts Avenue between Albany and Troy Avenues.
The fire broke out at approximately 1:00 PM in the basement of the Bais Eliyahu Nochum Shul, which contains a popular Crown Heights men’s Mikvah.
Firefighters quickly arrived to put out the flames.
All the Sefer Torahs in the Shul on the first floor of the home were rescued by neighbors, COLlive.com was told.
The cause of the fire was electrical that started in the Mikvah pump filter, firefighters said.
The contractors who did the electrical, plumbing and tile work in the mikva appeared to be amateurs. Need to ave such work done by licensed professionals.
