In 1887, the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe gave his blessings to his Chossid R’ Moshe Zalman Feiglin to move with his family to the Israeli city of Tzfas (before continuing to Australia).
His descendants returned to the northern Israeli city this past Thursday to dedicate a Chabad kindergarten in his memory.
Gan Zalman in the Nof Kineret neighborhood was donated by R’ Mottel and Esther Feiglin of Melbourne.
They were accompanied by Moshe Feiglin, an extreme-right Israeli politician and leader of the Manhigut Yehudit party – a cousin of Mottel.
Tzfas Mayor Ilan Schochet spoke at the ceremony and recalled his childhood days attending Mesibas Shabbos organized by Shliach Rabbi Aaron Eliezer Ceitlin, now director of the Chabad kindergartens in Tzfas.
