Fathers Going Back to School

The Beis Medrash of Crown Heights is launching its successful Back to School for Fathers Program this Tuesday- back by popular demand.

The Beis Medrash, located in the Crown Condos (580 Crown Street- Ground Floor) will be offering a Gemara shiur by Rabbi Geisinsky in which fathers will learn the Gemara that their sons will be learning during the yeshiva year.

On opening night, Tuesday, yud Elul, August 28th, Rabbi Geisinsky will teach the Gemara the way he would in the classroom, including worksheets and tests. Gradually, TBM hopes to raise more funds and be able to host additional shiurim given by talented magidei shiur from Oholei Torah and Lubavitch Yeshiva.

“These shiurim give the fathers a head-start,” explained Rabbi Motty Lipskier, Director of The Beis Medrash, “so that when their sons learn the material they will be prepared and excited to help them review.”

Lipskier also said that these shiurim will be offered to fathers at minimal cost. “The project is being sponsored by an incredibly generous couple from Crown Heights who insisted on remaining anonymous,” he explained.

The shiur can also be appreciated by those who are simply looking for an invigorating Gemara shiur, even if they don’t have sons in yeshiva.
