Today, 24 Teves, marks the 202nd yartzeit of the Alter Rebbe.
Last year on this day, Rabbi YY Jacobson led a group to Haditch, Ukraine, the resting place of the founder of Chabad, the Alter Rebbe (1745-1812).
One of the passengers on the trip, organized by Reb Gershon Chaimson, recorded his fascinating farbrengen while on the bus traveling from Berditchov to Haditch with 60 fellow travelers.
The farbrengen tells the story of the final days of the Alter Rebbe, the funeral and the burial in Haditch, and explores some of the most fundamental ideas of the Alter Rebbe.
Anyone have pictures from this year?
do any of the stores carry it? haven’t seen it on line.
Nobody says it like Rabbi Jacobson.
Sheyarbu k’moso b’yisroel.
Rabbi Yehoshua Mundhein z”l published a book “hamasa haacharon,” “the final journey,” where he compiled all of the history and all of the documents on the subject. See there for all of the details.
Does anyone know where Piena is? Does it still exist today? I’m looking for a timeline and map of the Alter Rebbe’s escape.
