Rabbi Yona Avtzon, Director of Sichos in English chassidic publications, addressed a Chof Cheshvan Farbrengen gathering on Sunday night, to a small crowd at Chabad of Kings Highway in New York.
The Chabad center on Ave R, although itself untouched, is in very close proximity to the areas strongly damaged by Hurricane Sandy, and many of its members were affected either directly or indirectly.
Rabbi Avtzon lifted their spirits and spoke how the hurricane is a small reminder how Hashem is the one “calling the shots.”
He spoke of the Rebbe Rashab‘s revolution through the creation of Tomchei Temimim, and how each Neshama that ever steps into its doors, was actually hand-chosen by the Rebbe Rashab.
He also pointed out the relationship between his father Rabbi Meir Avtzon, and Rabbi Avrohom (Mayore) Drizin, the grandfather of Rabbi Zalmen Drizin – Director of Chabad of Kings Highway.
Those attending deeply enjoyed a very uplifting evening after a long and difficult week in south Brooklyn. Rabbi Avtzon also distributed Maamorim of the Rebbe Rashab in English to those attending.
