Miryam, just thought to retell your story Friday night, and admit – curiosity of a little girl’s vivid memory, did get the better of me… – the beautiful silk bedspread… does the family still have it? Because it may seem like just a remnant (saved at the last moment) – the randomly saved bit of all the belongings your mother A”H had, but could it be symbolic and so poignantly a reminder of so much more..? The words in Eishes Chayil ..מרבדים עשתה לה, seem to reverberate and echo, in your stirring recollection of your mother in those moments… And… Read more »

I cried throughout, especially since I had the privilege to know your mother. Though I heard this before I know what a proud and clever woman your mother was. I think not only you live by this motto, but we can all take a lesson from it. Chazki Veamtzi!

True master story telling straight from משפחת בית הרב… How obvious a living legacy! The foresight in hardest of times of a true אם בישראל, and no matter how many years have passed, that her children forever keep the precious flame of her candle burning, the pure light of תורת אמך – with truest devotion to והחי יתן אל ליבו… What השגחה פרטית that her Yartzeit is on ח”י אדר, For a life lived with the דוגמא חי’ה and message of genuine positivity and simcha for all her צאצאים לדורי דורות – children, and grandchildren לאויוש”ט! The great zchus, besides… Read more »

LIFE IS SO PRECIOUS! We have to count our blessings every day! Your mother sounds like she was one amazing woman! May we Merit the imminent Geulah before we start cleaning for Pesach so that we don’t have to clean and that we can join with our loved ones. Your Neighbor, F. Chein. ❤.

When you spoke so emotionally about your dear holy mother of blessed memory, I like I’m sure many viewers thought back to their beloved mothers obm and their self sacrifice for their families that keep us going today.

The most important words to hear
March 7, 2018 6:00 am

Thank you for sharing such a difficult memory whose message resonates in the most universal way possible – family first and last. The possessions are replaceable the love and warmth of family are not. May your mother have an aliyah of her neshama and may you continue to be comforted by the words of your wise and special mother

Your house can be full of things but your heart can still be empty. When your house is full of love and joy, even a rickety card table will be part of an everlasting home! I cherish my first photo from when I moved to NY – my 4 year old son and I alone, in a strange state, and we didn’t know a single person. But I moved across the country to make sure that even without his father, he would have a proper Yeshiva education. We were sitting at our “dining table” a rickety card table covered in… Read more »
