The New York City Police Department 71st Precinct – Community Affairs department has notified that a film shoot for a television show is planned in Greenpoint Brooklyn Thursday night, August 16.
This shoot will involve a large fire-ball effect residents in surrounding communities and Manhattan may be able to hear and see as it occurs. This shoot is taking place on private property with the assistance of the NYPD and FDNY.
In other news, Community Affairs said there has been a sharp increase in iPhone robberies and larcenies. The NYPD is asking everyone to enable their Find My iPhone application on their phones which “will greatly increase our ability to recover and make an arrest if your cell phone is taken.”
You can also read how to locate an iPhone without MobileMe on ehow.com.
Crown Heights residents are welcome to come to the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council at 387 Kingston Avenue to register their electronic belongings and bicycles on Thursday, August 23, between 2-5 PM.
Registering your belongings with the NYPD will help them return any lost or stolen merchandise to the rightful owner. The process takes less than 10 minutes and if free of charge.
I think it shows they are putting an effort into doing something about it. The thing is there needs to be a proper system of already having phones and moreso bikes registered when they are bought.
Unless your worried that Bloomberg will somehow prevent you from either circumcising your iPhone , or forcing you to nurse it: then registering it will help it be reclaimed if stolen.
And if you were planning on nursing your phone: seek professional help ASAP !!’
I think it’s some special effects in a movie where a large ball of fire will go up in the sky. They probably are afraid that people will panic & think it’s 9-11 revisited. An understandable reaction.
