Answering to a need for a camp for daughters of shluchim in Europe, Gan Yisroel in Sweden offers an exciting summer experience in a chassidishe environment for girls ages 8 and 15, enabling them to make new friends with girls just like them.
Girls who live all year on a similar time zone, who also speak at least one of the languages they do, who live lives devoted to the same ideals…refined, chassidishe maidlach just like them.
The recharge of chayus, the strengthening of hiskashrus to the Rebbe, and the new friendships formed will enable campers to return home to their places of shlichus with a new dedication and pride in their lives as shluchos.
3 weeks of fun filled action, include farbrengens, Tzivos Hashem, niggunim, games, sports, swimming, night activities, campfires, hikes, trips, arts and crafts, amazing shiurim and much more.
Gan Yisroel Tzeirei Hashluchos Sweden began in 5769, with the support of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, and quickly became renowned for the warmth and care shown to each camper, the incredible program, and dedicated staff.
All staff members speak both English and Hebrew, and the camp is run simultaneously in both languages. No child ever feels like ‘a
foreigner!’
“Every camper in Tzeirei Hashluchos Sweden is really treasured and appreciated,” says Leah Namdar, who directs the camp with her husband, Rabbi Alexander Namdar, Head Shliach of Sweden.
“They are children of shluchim who are living in the most remote places in Europe, or other parts of the world, surrounded by strange cultures and languages. These kids are the real heroes of shlichus!”
Gothenburg, Sweden is renowned for its clean air, pure water, and is acclaimed as the greenest city in Europe. The campsite lies at the heart of miles of untouched forest and nature reserves, perfect for hiking.
There is a private entrance from the campsite leading into the famous Botanical Gardens, with beautiful flowers, waterfalls and majestic trees. The campsite is on a large piece of land, with one building for sleeping and the other for activities, with a patio for outdoor meals and barbecues, campfire area and plenty of space for outdoor activities. There are also an indoor heated swimming pool on the premises.
Camp is only a 10 -15 minute drive away from the sea, boat rides to the islands, malls, bowling, and other attractions. Liseberg, Europe’s second largest amusement park is also nearby.
For the first time, the camp will be opening a Pioneer Bunk for 14-15 year olds, with exciting activities, an incredible learning program, and staff that is focused just on them.
“B”H we are happy to see the fast growth of the camp uniting more and more Tzeirei hashluchos from all over, and it is impressive to see the dedication of the staff to every single camper,” says Rabbi Namdar.
“The staff are a great team of chassidishe girls, warm and
dedicated counselors, who are preparing to give the tayere yaldei
hashluchos the summer of a lifetime, beezras Hashem.”
