Official Announcement from Eshel Hachnosas Orchim regarding Tishrei 5781
To the residents of Crown Heights:
Due to the situation in the community, and because of the concern of additional outbreaks of Corona, this is to update you about Hachnosas Orchim this year.
1-Eshel Hachnosas Orchim has been operating for decades in the community in full cooperation with all the relevant authorities, first and foremost, with the rabbanim, members of the Badatz, doctors in the community led by Dr. Rosen, the gabbaim of 770, schools, etc.
2-This year too, especially this year, we spoke with the Badatz and the Gedalia Society (a few months ago) in order to receive guidance regarding what conditions would make it possible for guests to come to the Rebbe for Tishrei.
3-In the official update of the Gedalia Society and in a letter from the Badatz it was established that only those who were already sick with Corona or had antibodies could come to the Rebbe. Someone who had not had Corona could not come for reasons of Pikuach Nefesh.
4-When we received this information, we worked to update potential guests around the world about these rules. We were in direct contact with Chabad Yeshivos and Chabad rabbanim in Eretz Yisrael and elsewhere, and made it abundantly clear that those who did not meet conditions and the criteria could not come this year.
5-To ensure that guests are abiding by the conditions, registration for Hachnosas Orchim this year is conditional upon presenting medical certification of recovery from Corona or of the presence of antibodies.
6-During the upcoming month, we will continue to work in full collaboration with the rabbanim and doctors and will make every effort so that all the guests who are registered for Hachnosas Orchim will maintain strict observance of the protocols to protect their health and the health of all residents of Crown Heights.
7-It is important to make it clear that the discovery of additional Covid cases this past week took place before guests arrived and have no connection with guests for Tishrei.

What about those individuals forging documents to show they have antibodies? How are you making sure this isnt the case with your guests?
I know this for a fact. Many Israel bochurim have forged their documents

Many tzfatim came and escaped Israel before the health ministry was told that they were in close proximity to a corona patient (there are over 100 bochurim with corona in tzfas now), that definitely didn’t affect shechuna either? Right?
What about the bochrim that ran away last week from tzfas yeshiva before the yeshiva was put on lockdown for corona?
They’re just saying this because they’re short on hosts for meals.
Actually the right thing would be that no one come this year. It is disrespectful and not considerate to come. Sadly, they are pushed to come here because there are those who make a living from bringing the guests here.

How people take responsibility for bringing guests here and clearly showing how “responsible” they are. You think we are to believe every bochur that came really had antibodies. Really???
Borough park, Monsey and more had a major uptick way before the orchim came..
so who’s to decide who caused what.
The body produces antibodies after it was invaded by the virus. Ask them if they were sick too or that they just happen to have antibodies. Israel did a great job in keeping the virus at bay for many months. Only very recently did it spiral out of control. Small chance that these guys got the virus without anyone knowing and without spreading it to anyone at a time when no one around them had it. An embarrassment on every level. You can spin this however you want, but we and you too, know in your heart of hearts that this is simply unacceptable in every way. You can call it Chassidish. You can call it Hiskashrus. You can put any label you wish, it makes zero difference. This is a travesty of everything the Torah and Chassidus stand for. They are saying that it wasn’t people coming specifically 4 Tishrei, which they are taking care of.
They did not say that it wasn’t people from Israel (which they are not taking care of.)
The Tzemach Tzedek spoke about the inyan of not traveling during a mageifa. But common sense speaks of this as well. Eshel should be shuttered until the virus is gone from our midst. Stop w the excuses. NO VISITORS TO CROWN HEIGHTS. Especially if you care about others.
Simple solution to potential forged Certificates
Anyone wanting to go to Eshel should be tested for antibodies by Eshel on site
Let them give a $200 deposit that if their test does not show antibodies they lose the deposit and cannot come into Eshel
They don’t wait for the results to come back. Take the test and walk right into 770.
Even if everyone in ch tested positive for the virus, it means nothing. The cdc just said only a few actually died from the virus. It’s a scam , shtus, that the dem party made up. Nov 4 it’s over with anyways. For all those that are scared, you have the right and no one is telling you to leave your house. Stay indoors until moshiach arrives. There’s actually more deaths from suicide, this so called cure and tactic is worse than the virus
Stay in your own country for now!
I assure you there are yeshivot in Israel too where you can study & pray in a holy atmosphere! Please don’t come for now.
