Israel’s Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman visited Crown Heights on Tuesday, visiting 770 Lubavitch Headquarters and was hosted at a meeting of community activists at the home of Chanina Sperlin of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council.
The minister, who was accompanied by Daniella Golan, director of Ohr Chaya Institute in Jerusalem for the visit, is a supporter of Chabad causes in the Israeli government.
Also in attendance at the meeting were community activists Devorah Halberstam, Eli Slavin, Eli Cohen, Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, and Rabbi Sholom Yaakov Chazan.

What does the CHJCC have to say about the environmental effects ( traffic, parking shortages, shadows from 150 ft tall buildings, oversaturation of social services, homeless housing, lack of a proportional amount of 3BR apts for families) from all the Vital Brooklyn Projects? NYS ESD is required to issue a Environmental Impact Statement (“EIS”) for Vital Brooklyn Kingsboro Psych (681 Clarkson Ave – 1090 units with no onsite parking) this Autumn’23 because significant environmental impacts have been determined.
Will CHJCC hire lawyers to fight the upcoming Kingsboro EIS ?
