Students of the Chabad Yeshiva in the Israeli city of Elad will have a longer than planned Purim vacation.
The Yeshiva’s administration sent a notice to all of their 100 bochurim that learning will only resume next Wednesday, 22 Adar.
“One of the students had a possible case of coronavirus,” they said. “In consultation with the Health Ministry, it was decided to postpone” learning.
“During this time, all students and staff of the Yeshiva must stay in isolation as required,” they notified.
The bochur who may have contacted the virus has been infected by his father, a 45-year-old man who is an employee of Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s medical emergency service.
He is labeled patient number 29 (out of 58 in the country) and has also infected his wife and another child. Only one of his daughters was not infected.
The family, who live in the village of Einav, were transferred to quarantine in Tel Hashomer Medical Center.
