The Tiferes Eliezer community in Boro Park, led by Rabbi Avrohom Yehuda Lev, once again held its annual “Day of Torah” with the goal of completing the entire Gemara in a single day.
A large hall was filled with hundreds of people who spent hours learning page after page until the entire Talmud Bavli.
One of the participants and honored speaker was R’ Dudi Farkash, founder of Chabad of Forshay in Monsey, New York, and is a businessman and philanthropist.
He called it a “tremendous project” and said it was an honor, as a Lubavitcher, to participate as a speaker at the event. As is known, the Frierdiker Rebbe encouraged regularly learning Gemara.
“The reason Yaakov Avinu sent Yehuda ahead of him to Egypt was to open a Yeshiva,” he said during remarks he shared. “The Maharam Shapiro said that Yehuda had an understanding of the nefesh of a child. So too this gathering where all nefashos are welcome and everyone can found a home for learning.”
