A special event to show solidarity with the innocent civilian hostages, taken by Hamas in the massacre on Simchas Torah will take place near Crown Heights on Friday.
Hamas terrorists abducted over 200 innocent civilians, including infants and Holocaust survivors. The group of victims includes men, women and children of all ages. They are Argentinians, Germans, Americans, French, Russians, and Israelis.
A fully set Shabbos table with over 200 empty chairs will be set up on Eastern Parkway to bring awareness and demand the hostages immediate return.
The event is taking place in Brooklyn, in front of the landmark Brooklyn Museum and is being organized by a group of local Jewish residents.
“Come stand with us and show solidarity as we declare that our society has no room for innocent victims being taken hostage,” said Sam Stern, a prominent Crown Heights activist.
“The event is coordinated by local Jews at the grassroots level. Two hundred empty seats at the Shabbos table will be set to raise awareness. I support this peaceful event and will attend,” said Rabbi Yaacov Behrman, Jewish Future Alliance.
Date: Friday, October 27th
Time: 2:30 PM
Location: Brooklyn Museum 200 Eastern Parkway
Although standing in solidarity with Israel is necessary. The Rebbe would encourage that those seats be filled with 200 people celebrating shabbos lezchus the redemption of the hostages ! In public ! Showing the strength and resilience of Am Yisrael
Thank you
Our thoughts exactly!
Such a comment can only come from
someone who’s toiled in the Rebbes Sichos for years!
I think that the purpose of this is to give off a certain easy to digest message to the world and general public, which will be a lot clearer and easier to understand if there are empty seats rather than a full table of people celebrating. The positive approach of the Rebbe can technically be applied here but I think it is better applied with the new mitzva tanks for Israel, unity events, and good deed campaigns. This way we’re giving off a clear message to the world and general public who don’t have the same love and care for… Read more »
This is Friday afternoon. everyone will of course take home shabbos guests for the actual meal.
This was done last week in Tel Aviv and in Paris. In Paris, A picture was placed at each seat and high chairs for the babies.
Kudos to Sam Stern.
2:30 until ???
And when someone wanted to put an empty chair to show support for holocaust
The Rebbe said instead invite another guest
MISH NISHT KASHE MIT BORSHT
This in not a REMEMBERING, this is an important way of awareness and call to ACTION!! to the Public!!
Amazing visual. Hashem yirachem
Put pictures ;( of all of them
THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO CIVILIANS IN GAZA, IT IS A PROFESSIONAL TERRORIST FARM FROM BABY’S/ADULTS
When a son calls his parents to share be proud of him for killing at least 10 innocent people that = Evil, THE ONLY ANSWER SOLUTION IS TO ELIMINATE FROM ITS ROOTS/SOURCE ONCE AND FOR ALL
The whole world has a final decision to make and choose the RIGHT SIDE or pay the consequences
Dumb dumb and dumb again. Before we talk about people can we just clarify that BABIES are physically capable of being a terrorist.
Thank you may we merit to hear good news only. Amen!
…you’ve never had a baby. Their cries can terrorize anyone!
But in all seriousness, the ones in Gaza absorb Jew-hatred with their mother’s milk. There is a reason behind the mitzvah of destroying Amalek מעולל ועד יונק, after all.
Will the Shabbos table be there over Shabbos also? The protest is at the same place…
That’s the point
What scares me is that the people that will be at the Pro-Palestinian parade that is happening this Shabbos by Grand Army Plaza, will destroy it!
Point is to show how we peacefully show our presence vs the vildeh chaya klipa amalekites- may Hashem strike them dead at their protest.
They will no doubt
come put tfilin, give candles and spread light but come and support!!!!
