100 volunteers gathered Sunday night in New York for a pre Chanuka party and packing holiday gift packages that will be delivered to lonely Holocaust survivors living around the city.
They enjoyed latkes, donuts and great company and had the opportunity to participate in a most rewarding mitzva of visiting a homebound Holocaust survivor.
Adam, a first time volunteer said: “This experience was truly amazing. Not only did I meet great people at the event, I also met this incredible woman who reminded me of my grandmother who survived Auschwitz.”
The event was organized by Rabbi Tzvi and Sheva Tauby, directors of iVolunteer, a non for profit program which links volunteers with Holocaust survivors in New York City and hosts programs and events for them throughout the year.
iVolunteer is holding their annual Gala on January 26th at the Oren Sanz Foundation in New York. Fore more info, click here
