On the Al-Mashhad news channel, which broadcasts from Dubai, a recent segment focused on the ongoing war in Gaza, which began after the brutal massacre by Hamas terrorists in Israel’s southern region on October 7, 2023.
During the broadcast, commentator Alif Sabbagh presented an extensive theory, claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is motivated by a deep messianic belief that he is a “messenger from G-d.”
The report, first published by the Maariv news site, described Sabbagh’s claim that Netanyahu sees himself as fulfilling a divine mission.
According to Sabbagh, Netanyahu’s spiritual guide is none other than the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who is referred to in some as “the awaited Messiah.”
Sabbagh claimed the Rebbe supposedly told Netanyahu: “You are a messenger from G-d to fulfill the prophecies of the prophets of Israel.”
Sabbagh added that both Sara Netanyahu and the Prime Minister’s supporters also view him as someone carrying out a divine task.
He went on to sharply criticize Netanyahu, saying:
“He said, ‘I have a spiritual mission.’ What does a spiritual mission mean? Imagine if G-d had no one else but this criminal. He went to the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Netanyahu is completely convinced that he can carry out this mission.”
These claims come amid recurring allegations from various voices in the Arab world that Netanyahu is pursuing a vision of “Greater Israel.”
In a related segment, retired Turkish admiral Cihat Yaycı accused Israel of advancing a plan to establish a new political entity in northern Syria, which he called “Zionistan.”
According to Yaycı, this strategic move aims to encircle Turkey using regional actors such as the Druze community and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). Pointing to a map of northeastern Syria, he stated: “This region is not Kurdistan or anything else — it is Zionistan.”
He argued that this is part of a broader ‘Greater Israel’ plan, allegedly implemented through cooperation between the PKK and Druze forces. Yaycı further claimed that the PKK’s political wing in Turkey has already shown public support for the Druze, which he believes proves coordination with Israel.
“When they say ‘we must protect the Druze,’ who are they really supporting? Israel!” he concluded.

If that was true this war would of been completed over a year ago
They have cause for concern
If only Netanyahu would listen to the Rebbe
