It was an uplifting, joyous and connected month of Tishrei at the largest university in the West Coast – Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, Arizona.
The Rohr Chabad at ASU, directed by Rabbi Shmuel and Chana Tiechtel, celebrated a busy Tishrei season, hosting hundreds of students from many states and from around the world.
From a meaningful and uplifting Rosh Hashshana and Yom Kippur Tefilois at the Smetana Family Shul, to lively joy on Sukkos, the Tishrei season was capped off with a lively Shmini Atzeres and Simchas Torah.
Hundreds of Yidden heard Shofar and bentsched lulav and esrog all over campus.
On chol hamoed, Chabad hosted a “Kosher Pizza in the Hut” at the Grand Sukkah at the Levenbaum Chabad House where the students came and enjoyed Kosher food and Sukkos joy.
On Simchas Torah, it is said that “Man becomes the feet of Torah.” At Chabad ASU, Simchas Torah was very lively with lots of joy and dancing with the Torah. It was a true feeling of Jewish pride for the many students that joined as they danced with the Torah joyously down 10th street, across Mill Avenue, all the way to the center of campus.
“The joy and inspiration of seeing hundreds of students coming to Chabad and connecting to Yiddishkeit this month was truly inspiring,” said Rabbi Tiechtel. :Seeing so many students B”H feeling at home at the Chabad House and wanting to connect to Yiddishkeit is a real nachas to the Rebbe.”
