There’s nothing like the pain of having your whole world fall apart.
For children growing up in single parent homes, this is a reality they are facing every day. Shuttling between two homes, where neither feels like home, they crave a sense of normalcy and security. Most of all, they want to know that no matter how hard it gets, it’s going to be okay. Please donate now!
Many put on a brave face for their parents, so that they won’t worry. Yet, beneath it all, there is a quiet ache they can’t put into words.
Holidays, birthdays, and school breaks can be heart-wrenching as they watch their friends revel in the joy of complete families, enjoying gifts their parents may struggle to afford or heading off to camp. Meanwhile, they might have to stay home or divide their special moments between parents.
These experiences can turn major milestones into moments of heartache rather than celebration.
It can be difficult to understand why everything can’t just go back to “normal.”
We cannot turn away from these children! We must be there for them―as one family and one Mishpachtainu.
Pioneered by Yehudis Sherman, a single mom who is well aware of the struggles these children face, Mishpachtainu seeks to make each child feel cared for.
In addition to a weekly food pantry, Mishpachtainu provides medical emergency funds, simcha funds for bar and bat mitzvahs, gifts on birthdays and chanukah, shaloch manos, and KRM gift cards ensuring that holidays will be celebrated with a hot meal and pure joy.
Let’s not sit by while they watch on in loneliness and pain. Today, we can be their Mishpachtainu.
To sponsor one of Mishpachtainu’s critical initiatives for the children of almonas and single mothers, please open your hearts and give generously. Together, we can fill their lives with the love and support they so desperately need.

what about other children whose life was never normal?
