NCFJE is proud to bring back $5 subsidized-Kaporos made possible by the generosity of Rabbi Dovid Fischer and diamond mogul Mr. Morris Gad.
$5 Kaporos will take place on Sunday, October 6th at the Bais Rivka parking from 1:00-7:30 PM (or till supplies last.) For residents of the Crown Heights community only.
Kaporos on Erev Yom Kippur will be from 6 pm on Monday – 6 am on Tuesday. Shechita will begin at 9:30 pm.
NOTE TO COMMUNITY FROM THE LEADERS OF NCFJE:
Certain anti-Jewish and anti-tradition forces have come to try and stop the Minhag of Kaporos with live chickens.
NCFJE, who sponsored the community Kaporos for decades, is going out of its way to make special efforts in order to ensure that the opposing forces will not affect the Kaporos minhag.
We urge members of the community to do Kaporos with women and children on Sunday at Bais Rivka and only adult men should do Kaporos with shechita on Monday night.
Beware: the protestors are there to instigate us to act improperly so they can catch it on camera. If any of the opposing forces try to provoke you, please refrain from any form of interaction. Rather focus on the Mitzva at hand, the chicken, the prayers and minhag.
NCFJE thanks the sponsors and the community and extends wishes for a k’siva v’chasima tova and a gut yahr.
How much for non Crown Heights “residents” – Ie bochrim / guests?
Is Monday also 5 dollars a chicken
Is Monday also 5 dollar Kaporos?
Yes we have to wonder why they weren’t this angry when Jews were bashed by bricks, shuls vandalized, etc But they are trying to troll us and the one thing they really want is attention. Don’t give it to them!
But they worship animals, and think they are more important then people.
I WISH YOU COULD SEND SOME SUBSIDIZED CHICKEN FOR KAPPOROS TO LONDON ENGLAND.
Here they are charging an exorbitant amount of money per chicken. £18.00!!!!!
עס איז שווער צו זיין א חשסידעשער איד
Thers a story about a Jew in America that came to the Rov and bemoaned the fact that his children weren’t going in the way of the Torah. The Rov told him in stead of always saying איי ס’איז שווער צו זיין א אי say א ס’איז גוט צו זיין א איד then you’re children will recieve the message that Yiddishkeit is good and they’ll also want it. You probably didn’t mean it in that way but anyway it reminded me of this story גמר חחימה טובה! 😊
