Dear Friends,
Today, the 6th of Tishrei, marks 59 years since the passing of Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson נ״ע, the Rebbe’s mother.
Rebbetzin Chana displayed tremendous self sacrifice and grace under pressure as she accompanied her husband Rabbi Levi Yitzchak into exile which ultimately claimed his life.
Her efforts in providing him necessary materials to record his Torah thoughts went as far as her making ink from flowers as recorded in her timeless diaries. Torah thoughts which we are blessed to have printed and available for all to study.
The respect that her son, the Rebbe, accorded her was exemplary and a model we all seek to follow. Despite his incredibly busy daily schedule not a day passed on which he didn’t visit with her.
In her honor, the Rebbe founded Keren Chana with the goal of assisting girls in furthering their Jewish studies.
On this special day, I urge to contribute generously to the Rebbe’s Keren Chana in her memory and providing the opportunity for many Jewish women and girls to advance in their study of Torah and it’s mitzvos.
With blessings that you and yours be inscribed and sealed for a happy, healthy and sweet new year.
Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky
