Thank you for posting this, my daughter had all these symptoms and I just thought it was a cold. After reading this I took her straight to the Dr and lo and behold, she has the virus. Now I am clearly informed on what to look out for. This was very helpful, thank you!

Can an adult get this? I was so sick should have gone to doctor but…no fever but nose, coughing etc.just like you described coughing so hard thought I was going to die because couldn’t breath. Just curious for future knowledge!

Correction to the above….those are the normal ranges for breathing. If your child exceeds this range it is considered “fast” breathing.

Yes, this virus can occur at any age but older kids tend to be able to handle the respiratory symptoms much better and are able to fight off the infection without hospitalizations. That being said they ARE capable of transmitting the virus to younger kids therefore hand hygiene and avoiding unnecessary contact with smaller kids is key.
