A most beautiful and honorable Tribute Dinner was held in Oholei Torah this past Sunday evening, honoring the memory of Mrs. Sarah Deitsch, obm.
Over 450 guests, parents, family members and faculty gathered together for an evening of inspiration, entertainment to show their solidarity of a most important institution in the Chabad world today.
The Dinner event was held in the Grand Ballrooms of Oholei Torah, where the evening’s program tone was set with heartfelt Chassidic melodies performed by Rabbi Yossi Goldstein and his Chabad boys choir.
The evening was MC’d by Rabbi Nosson Blumes, Director of Development. Rabbi Eliezer Teitelbaum and Dr. Yosef Tzvi Sandman read the Rebbe’s letter, and a Dvar Torah was shared by HaTomim Levi Pinson.
This year’s Educators Award was awarded to Rabbi Pinchus Rapoport, a rebbe in the yeshiva, and was presented by Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig, Principal.
A surprise raffle was held for two sets of reservations to an upcoming Cantorial concert with Cantor Helfgot and Izzak Perelman. The raffle was drawn by Avrohom Deitsch, and sponsored by the in the newly opened Barclay Center, in Brooklyn, NY.
Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director, spoke of the greatness of Mrs. Sara Deitsch, and his fond memories of his long friendship with the entire Deitsch family. Rabbi Rosenfeld also thanks all members of his devoted staff for their hard efforts on behalf of the mossad.
Mordechai Deitsch and Joseph Deitsch spoke on behalf of the family. A moving video presentation was shown of the life of Mrs. Deitsch, and what we can learn from her dedication to the Rebbe, her family and her regal ways.
Rabbi Blumes made an open appeal, not having this Dinner just only be a tribute to the memory of R’ Dovid and Sarah Deitsch, but to be the opening of a new horizon, where each and every one connected to the mossad should step up to the plate, and help support and expand the circle of friends and supporters.
Rebbetzin Esther Teitelbaum, co-founder of Oholei Torah, expressed her thanks to the Deitsch Family, and was moved to tears by her memories and gratitude to R’ Dovid and Sarah Deitsch’s partnership with her husband, Reb Michoel Teitelbaum.
A most impressive Journal was distributed with articles and pictures of the Deitsch family, together with hundreds of advertisements and greetings in support of Oholei Torah, and solidarity to the Deitsch Family and their efforts on behalf of Oholei Torah.
