The Chabad children’s minyan in Los Angeles, Known as the legendary Kol Yakov Yehuda – the Rebbe’s Diamond Daveners, has entered their 18th year and once again appeals to Anash worldwide to join them in their annual Maftir Yonah appeal.
As a pioneer and leader in youth development and in-reach to Unzere Kinder, Kol Yakov Yehuda, under the auspices of Congregation Levi Yitzchok, cultivates a unique environment of growth in their Junior Congregation of Los Angeles. Most of the extracurricular activities are funded by the once a year Maftir Yonah Appeal.
As an organization with giving back at the forefront of their minds, Kol Yakov Yehuda wants to give back even with their fundraising campaign and has seen no better opportunity than to offer collectively all the z’chusim of Maftir Yonah.
The Maftir Yonah appeal is the unique opportunity to support the work of empowering the leaders of tomorrow while also receiving all the z’chusim of Maftir Yonah.

“We here in Los Angeles are so proud of these Diamond Daveners, since our inception 18 years ago, we have grown to five divisions and close to 250 kids attend every Shabbos,” says Rabbi Mendel Duchman, Founder and (adult) Director of The shul for the kids – by the kids – as it has commonly become known worldwide.
“Over 1,000 of unzereh kinder have gone through our shul and youth programs, thus far,” says Rabbi Duchman. “This has Boruch Hashem kept us pretty busy trying to attend their Bar Mitzvahs, weddings, and recently the Brissim of the children born to our congregants,” Duchman concluded proudly.
